Google ‘Now On Tap’ Provides Contextual Information About What’s Going On In Your Apps

Today, Google announced ‘Now on Tap’  which makes it possible to ask questions and proactively search for information without leaving apps. Android M will bring the new Now service which is getting even smarter and more contextual.

Basically, Google Now is being infused into every aspect the Android operating system.  “You’re deluged with a lot of information on your phone’s,” said Google SVP Sundar Pichai. The evolution of Google Now is aiming to fix that.”

If you’re watching a YouTube video of a famous actor, just call up Google Now to get more information about that person. “We spend a lot of time trying to get answers to quick questions and figuring out next steps, and we wanted to make that a lot easier.” said, Aparna Chennapragada, director of product management at Google.

Throughout the demonstration, Google engineers kept on stressing that the overarching goal of “Now on Tap” is to be more assistive to users and giving them information before they know they need it.
