htc droid dna vs samsung galaxy s3

SO we are here again with some clashes of top notch Android Smartphones. On One hand today we have Recently announced and yesterday launched HTC Droid DNA, which is currently only available in US. Its international Variant HTC Deluxe is getting rumors and some pics also leaking these days.

Other side is covered up By Samsung Galaxy S III which is currently the flagship Phone of World’s largest Smartphone Seller, Samsung. It have several variants in different countries and with many Colour variations.

So let’s do HTC Droid DNA vs Samsung Galaxy S3.

So getting Started Lets’s first Discuss

Display:

HTC Droid DNA have 5 inch screen and company also calls it Phablet. Its 5-inch Super LCD 3 display (1920×1080 pixels) is a 1080p resolution screen and is protected with Gorilla Glass 2. While another hand Samsung Galaxy S3 has 4.8 inch Super AMOLED HD display with 1280×720 resolution. While size here didn’t matter so much but HTC Droid DNA’s Screen resolution makes difference. So from here HTC Droid DNA takes the bout away from Samsung Galaxy S3.

Dimensions And Weight:

The Droid DNA weighs in at 138 g while the Galaxy S3 weighs in at 133 g. S3 is 4.4 mm shorter and 1.3 mm thinner than the thickest point of the Droid DNA. While dimensions of both phones are as follows:

Droid DNA:  140.9 x 70.6 x 9.7 (mm)

Galaxy S3: 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 (mm)

The Galaxy S3 has Samsung’s usual glossy plastics, while HTC prefers to use a soft touch finish on the Droid DNA’s back plate.

We are little bit confused here as if we go specs wise Galaxy S3 takes away the trophy but if we go according to real need and its aspects both phones have tie here.

Processor And RAM:

So here’s the much discussed part of any phone. HTC Droid DNA is powered by 1.5 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor with 2 GB of RAM. While Samsung Galaxy S3 have Samsung Galaxy S3 is powered by 1.4 GHz Quad-core Exynos Processor with 1 GB of RAM (specs varies with countries as LTE variant uses a dual-core Snapdragon with 2 GB of RAM).

Coming onto GPU: Samsung Galaxy S3 have a Mali 400 GPU but HTC Droid DNA is not behind as it have 320 Adreno GPU. But performance lacks when Adreno manages 1080p display as it do a lot of work to manage this HD display. So according to benchmarks Galaxy S3 wins the race in GPU case and HTC Droid DNA is ahead in CPU case.

Storage:

HTC’s latest Droid smartphone packs 2 GB of RAM and just 16 GB of storage while Samsung Galaxy S3 provides you 16 GB/32 GB/64 GB variants. If space is still problem on Galaxy S3 you can even add external SD Card upto 64 GB. But if you think to increase space in HTC Droid DNA by similar way than you can’t do it as it have no expansion facility.

Galaxy S3 is the winner from here.

Camera:

Both phones have 8 MP cameras that record video 1080p at 30 fps. But if you want good front camera than you need HTC Droid DNA as it have 2.1 MP front camera while Galaxy S3 have 1.9 MP front Camera.

HTC’s ImageSense offers a back lit sensor that takes great shots in low light, but Samsung’s camera does a better job with HDR shots and offers way more in the way of photo features.

From here its again tie.

Battery:

Samsung phone also slightly edges out the HTC handset in terms of battery size due to its 2100 mAh unit over the latter’s 2020 mAh unit.
