Finally, after bunch of rumors, Today, NVIDIA launched Shield Tablet powered by Tegra K1 processor for $299. Its the first tablet which is especially developed for gamers. As a fresh up, we like to tell you guys that it was demoed at CES last year along with the GameStream technology, which works with select Nvidia GPUs and, in limited beta, with Nvidia’s cloud streaming service.
This 8 inch tablet comes with a built-in stylus that works with Nvidia’s new Direct Stylus 2 tech. Here’s the list of

SHIELD tablet enables users to play games in nearly any way possible.
- Android games: It can play any Android game, and Nvidia says that there are over 400 titles optimized for touch or the SHIELD controller.
- Local LOCM +2.58% PC games: If you have the right Nvidia GeForce card in your desktop or laptop at home with a decent router, you can even stream games like Titanfall, Skyrim, Batman and Borderlands 2 through a feature called Nvidia Gamestream.
- Cloud PC games: PC games can also be streamed through a Beta version of Nvidia Grid, which currently supports 16 titles like Saints Row and Grid.
- Console gaming mode: Users can also buy the $59 WiFi-Direct-based SHIELD wireless controller and play games viewed on an HDTV using the SHIELD Tablet as a console. WiFi Direct limits latency and the controller supports up to 4 controllers and players at the same time.
- TWITCH game-casting: The SHIELD tablet even supports game-casting to Twitch. If you don’t think that’s a big deal, talk to Google GOOGL +1.03%, who is rumored to buy Twitch for $1B. Why? Those crazy gamers rack up more hours viewed on YouTube than any other viewing segment.

The Nvidia Shield will become available for pre-order today and will begin shipping in North America on July 9, Europe on August 4, and in other regions this fall. The 16GB/Wi-Fi model will cost $299, while the 32GB/LTE model will go for $399. The optional Shield controller will retail for $59, and Nvidia is also offering a case with a built-in stand for $39.
