Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge Supports that Old Quick Charge 2.0

Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge is here and Samsung is using that year old Quick Charge 2.0 technology to juice up the device. Snapdragon 820 which is present in the latest flagship from Samsung supports Quick Charge 3.0 but still Samsung opted for Quick Charge 2.0. Why?

qualcomm quick charge

We all know Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge has come up in two variants both have different processor. One Variant which runs on Snapdragon 820 and support Quick Charge 820 and the other one runs on Exynos 8890 SoC which does not support Quick Charge 3.0. So, Samsung took decision that both the devices will run with Quick Charge 2.0 technology which is also pretty good.

Quick Charge 2.0 charges 75% faster than non Quick Charge handsets. In just 30-minutes, the 3900mAh battery on the Motorola DROID Turbo can be charged up to 60%. Quick Charge 3.0 charges up to 4 times faster. After 30 minutes using this feature, a 2750mAh battery went from 0% to 80%.

So users this is for you that Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge do not support Quick Charge 3.0.
