Intel Revealed New Mobile Chipsets

Intel announced two new additions to its mobile phone chip line-up at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona yesterday. The new Intel Atom smartphone processors will feature the following specifications: 8 megapixel camera, burst mode shooting (10 pictures in less than 1 second), 1080p Full HD Movie Recording with HDMI access and 14 days of standby battery. First up is the dual-core Intel Atom Z2580. Alongside the added core (a step up from the Atom Z2460), they’ve also bumped the GPU from a PowerVR. 

Intel Based Lava XOLO X900 Android smartphone for India

Intel has announced a partnership with Lava International to bring first Intel-based smartphone to India namely XOLO X900. Much like the Orange Santa Clara, the XOLO X900 is based on an Intel reference design which features an Intel Atom Z2460 processor and HSPA+ connectivity, courtesy of the Intel XMM 6260 Platform. Due to the XOLO X900 being based off the same reference design used by Orange for the Santa Clara, the specs of the XOLO and Santa Clara are virtually identical. Packs a 1.6GHz Atom.
