Action Launcher Beta Adds “Ok Google” Hotword Feature And Much More

Action launcher has been updated to version 2.1 with many new features, fixes and performance boosts, In actual words its a solid update to the launcher which entered into Beta with this update.

Similar to Nova launcher which added the hotword feature couple of days ago is now also a feature of Action Launcher. Users can now search on Google using “Ok Google” hotword, giving hands-free Google searches. There’s much more in the new update pack – it also includes new visualizations buried in the settings, such as the option to enable the Roboto Condensed font and controls over where text labels are displayed. .

There’s a gestures like tapping home screen will enable sleep mode, etc. Here’s the full changelog of Action launcher Beta:

  •  “Ok, Google” voice activation. Requires Android 4.4 or later.
  • Double taping empty space on a Home screen powers the screen off.
  • Option to enable Roboto Condensed.
  • More fine-grained control over where icon text labels display.
  • Option to disable drawing of Cover/Shutter indicators.
  • Icon scale can be configured for items on Home screens, Dock, Quickpage and Folders (previously was only applied on Home screens).
  • Misc. stability improvements.
