Much to the excitement of Nokia patrons all around the globe, HMD Global raised the curtain from its revamped edition of certain low-end Nokia handsets yesterday. Perhaps, something even more surprising was planned for the Nokia users during the launch event that made them just wow! That’s none other than the official confirmation of Android P coming to the all Nokia handsets ever released in the market.
The happy news was made public by HMD’s global marketing manager, Neil Broadley, prior to the launch of Nokia 2.1, 3.1 and Nokia 5.1. The latest and sweetest Android flavor will fall to the entire Nokia portfolio as part of its commitment to the “pure, secure, and up-to-date” mantra, he justified.
Literally, the users of Nokia current handsets i.e. – starting from the low-tier Nokia 1, through the mid-rangers Nokia 6, Nokia 7 and all the way to high-end Nokia 8 Sirocco, the Android P would hit them over the course of time one by one. Obviously, the new handsets – Nokia 2.1, 3.1 and 5.1 are in tow though.
As it’s certain, only the Go edition of Android P will be making its way to the Android GO powered Nokia handsets – Nokia 1 and Nokia 2.1. Rest of the line-up should get the pure, stock version of full-fledged Android P. In fact, HMD’s choice to go for nearly stock Android on its devices is to be appreciated for this ideal software support. That said, let’s wait and see how well the firm can keep up the promise.
