Android Adoption Rate Now 6X More Than iPhone

Android adoption rates are increasing at great pace when compared to the platform’s biggest rival in Apple‘s iPhone. According to KPCB partner Mary Meeker, Android is adoption rate is 6x higher than Apple’s iphone means Android is increasing six times faster than that of Apple’s.

Earlier this year in Spring Mary’s report said that Android was growing 4x higher than iPhone and now its increased more. Android surpassed shipments of devices powered by Microsoft’s Windows in respect to Internet Devices. Report also says that by the end of the year there will be 1 billion smartphone users worldwide. By the end of 2013, Meeker believes quarterly shipments of Android devices will eclipse 160 million, followed by Windows at 100 million and iOS at 80 million.

iPad adoption is much (5x) higher than that of its smartphone cousin and it’s probably safe to assume that number will rise once the figures from the iPad 4 and iPad mini are factored in.

So who’s proud Android Device Owner here?
