Google has posted the Android Distribution of the month of May. Google collects the distribution data based on the last 7 days of any month traffic on Google Play Store. They bring the update to their apps at that time to know about the Android version distribution more accurately. As more the users will visit the store, more will be the accuracy.

Talking About this month’s Android Distribution stats, we can see the Nougat share has improved at a much better pace. It rose from 4.9% in April to 7.1 percent in May.The wave of updates for various devices from different OEMs has improved the numbers for Nougat.

Further if we talk about the Marshmallow, then it is stable at 31.2% and is behind the Lollipop which penetrates on 32% of total Android devices.

Talking about other old versions like Ice Cream Sandwich, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, they all have lost few users. KitKat lost the most share, dropping 1.2 percentage points down to 18.8% from last month’s 20%.

Well, it is better that new versions are getting more share in the Android Distribution Chart of May. We hope this trend to continue in upcoming months.
