April Android Stats: Android Lollipop Makes Way On 5.4 % Of Devices

Google has recently released stats about its Android’s Operating System’s distribution among smartphones all over the world. Google’s latest Android version Lollipop was released on June 25, 2015 and became available through OTA updates by November 12,2014. It has been only five months since devices have started receiving Lollipop’s updates.

As per stats released by Google, this month, about 82% of devices have Kit-Kat and Jelly Bean versions in their devices. Lollipop comes with two versions – Lollipop 5.0 and Lollipop 5.1. Collectively both versions have been able to reach 5.4 % of devices, with 5% of contribution by Lollipop 5.0 and 0.4% contribution by Lollipop 5.1.

If compare with the last month’s stats, there is an increase of 2.1% reach of Lollipop version. Many Lollipop based devices were released in MWC Barcelona 2015 and CES 2015 but they have no market yet. There are many countries where these devices are not released. Slowly , with the release and launch of these smartphones in all the countries, we are expecting a considerable rise in stats of this version too. Stay tuned for next month’s stats by Google.
