AT&T debuts App Center store for HTML5 and Android apps

Today at CES in Las Vegas, wireless carrier href=”http://www.att.com/” rel=”homepage” target=”_blank” title=”AT&T”>AT&T announced a new magazine-style application store, App Center, that will help get HTML5 and Android apps to smartphone users. AT&T hopes that this will increase href=”http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTML5″ rel=”wikipedia” target=”_blank” title=”HTML5″>HTML-5 applications and be easily linked to Google’s href=”http://www.android.com/market/” rel=”homepage” target=”_blank” title=”Android Market”>Android Market for developers. Unlike other app stores, the AT&T App Center will drive users to existing app stores, like Android Market, so that developers don’t have to worry about yet another application store that they have to place their applications on. The beta of the AT&T App Center launches in beta form today.
