Earlier in September 2014, Dell announced Venue 8 7000 series. It is now on sale in the US with the name of Venue 8 7840. In collaboration, Intel and Dell declared last year that tablet will be 6mm thick bagging tag of world’s thinnest tablet. Tablet is powered with Intel RealSense 3D snapshot photography solution.
Tablet has 8.40 inches OLED display with 2560×1600 resolution. Device runs on Intel 2.3 GHz processor coupled with 2GB RAM. Tablet has Android 4.4 OS support and 16GB Internal storage expandable via microSD card. Device includes front camera of 2MP and rear camera of 8MP without any LED support. Device has non removable battery of 5670 mAh power. About its Intel Real Sense support company stated that :
“Intel RealSense snapshot is an enhanced photography solution that creates a high-definition depth map to enable measurement, refocus and selective filters with a touch of a finger. It will introduce new capabilities and new ways of using the tablet, opening up a new creative horizon for developers to come up with apps that change how consumers engage with their photos.”
Other features of the Tablet are Wi-Fi ac connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, compass/ magnetometer sensor, accelerometer, ambient light and temperature sensors. In United States device is on Sale for $399.99 (approximately Rs. 24,500.00).
Other specifications and price for other countries are still not revealed by the company.
