The Chinese MNC – Huawei, in an unpredictable and sudden action, it had removed all of the EMUI firmwares from its website. Consequently, the users won’t be able to download their stock EMUI ROM and store it on their devices. This news gonna badly hit some of the Huawei users. Specifically those who prefer updating their device manually by sideloading the update.zip file through stock Android recovery.

It’s common that most of the smartphone manufacturers provides the full firmware of their devices available for download. Similarly, Huawei keeps the complete firmware database on emui.huawei.com website under Downloads section. Unfortunately, not any more it seems. Now, the EMUI download section greets us with the following message by Huawei:
To deliver a more convenient and satisfactory update service, Huawei now only provides online updates for its phones, Tables, etc. SD card update packages are no longer supplied.By this time, all the SD card upgrade packages will be removed from the website and the download page will be closed.
The removal of the download option and the above message was first noticed by a member at XDA. After all, it’s clear that, Huawei recommends their users to prefer only the OTA mode to update devices. And the closure doesn’t seems to be temporary. Definitely It won’t be pleasing for some users, though.
So friends, what you have to say about this deed by Huawei. Is it welcoming or absurd. Do Let us know about your views in the comment section below.
