You know, Xiaomi isn’t called the Apple of China for nothing. The company has in the past borrowed many smartphone traits of the iPhone on its devices and even in software, we can see the inspiration coming from Apple. That isn’t to say that Apple doesn’t copy anyone else. The iPhone X itself with its top-notch bezel-less display is inspired by Samsung’s transition to thin bezels.
But if a set of images are to be believed, Xiaomi is all set to mimic Apple’s latest “top-notch” product soon. Got what I did there? Apple’s top-notch display on the iPhone X. Just take a look at these images. Now, the Mi Mix series is two years old. And there has never been a Mi Mix 1s. But, these images from a tipster are attributed to Mi Mix 2s. Furthermore, these images also don’t show the bottom completely.
Obviously, the next Mi Mix will surely shed some more bezels in the future, but this is not what we expected. Admittedly, we thought Xiaomi would refine the current design, especially since they hired a French designer just for it. Then why throw it all out of the window?
Well, this is the first instance of a Mi Mix 2s, so you would be justified in being sceptical as we are. Nothing else of the device is known. Let us know what you think of the new design? Do you like the top-notch? Or do you want it to remain with iPhone X? let us know in the comments below.
