Google Docs, Sheets And Slides gets Physical Keyboard Support

Google has rolled out an essential new update to all its office apps today. The apps to receive this update include, Google Docs, Google Slides And Google Sheets. All the three Google apps now support physical keyboard for on screen controls and other functions. This update is currently rolling out and is available from version 1.7.292.

The support for physical keyboard in these apps might be extremely useful for people who use phones with larger screens and do most of their work using their smartphones. If you have a physical keyboard and a supported USB adapter cable, then you connect it right away with your smartphone and start working.

Google has added in the change logs of all these three apps as “Support for keyboard navigation of on-screen controls.” This might mean that you can also perform basic navigation in these apps using your physical keyboard. These basic functions include navigating through the menus and settings in these apps and switching between multiple slides, rows and columns.
