After rolling out the AR (Augmented Reality) Walking Directions on Google Maps for Web, the search giant has rolled the same feature on Android and iOS devices. The Google Maps Live View is now rolling out for all Android and iOS devices via a new update to the repctivee apps. Now, this will be the real test for the Live View feature as it is quite hard to use the AR Walking Directions from a browser on any smartphone.
The Live View offers walking directions overlaid on the live scene via camera. It can easily and efficiently guide users in the right direction. The search giant made it public after testing rigorously among the beta users and Local Guides. It is a boon for users who usually walk a lot every day in busy cities.
The support for Live View is limited to ARCore and ARKit enabled devices in countries where Street View is present.
Apart from the AR, the users can easily track their flight and hotel reservations on the new Google Maps app. The user can also reserve rooms from a tailored list of hotels by going to the new Reservations tab, which also works offline. Improved Timeline feature also allows the users to sneak peek in their travel history more effectively with improved UI and features.

The new update is now live on the Play Store. The interested students can easily upgrade their Google Maps from the respective Android and iOS App Store.
