Google rolls out Android O Developer Preview 4

With every passing day, we are nearing Android O release and it seems that Android enthusiasts need not wait too long to experience the official version of Android O. Google has now released the Developer Preview 4, which is the final preview before Android O is officially released for the public. It has been made available on the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Nexus Player.

If you are already running developer preview under the Android Beta Program, you will soon get an update to Android Developer Preview 4. If you own an eligible device, but have not enrolled yet, you need to visit the Android Beta Site to get enrolled for receiving the update.

According to Google, Developer Preview 4 is a release candidate build of Android O. It comes with final system behaviors, latest bug fixes and optimizations, and final APIs that will launch with official version of Android O. Google also released Developer Preview 4 system images along with stable version of Android 26.0.0 Support Library. Also, the incremental updates to the SDK, tools, and Android Emulator system images will arrive shortly.

Google will also release a new version of Android Testing Support Library including features such as Android Test Orchestrator, Multiprocess Espresso, and more. If you are a developer, you can check out the current apps on the final developer version of Android O. Furthermore, Google Play is now open for apps compiled against or targeting API 26.
