HMD rolling-out Android 8.0 Oreo beta for Nokia 8

Smartphone vendors are in deed gearing up the development of Android Oreo for their products. It was just recently, when OnePlus introduced beta program of OxygenOS based on Android Oreo for OnePlus 3/3T. While, Huawei nailed it by releasing the stable version of Android Oreo with the Mate 10 series. And in latest, Nokia has announced a beta program of Android Oreo for its current flagship, Nokia 8.

hmd rolling-out android 8.0 oreo beta for nokia 8Today, Juho Survikas – the Chief Product Officer at HMD officially confirmed the introduction of beta program monikered as Nokia Phones Beta Labs through Twitter. Currently, the program entitles Nokia 8 owners to test the initial beta builds of the Oreo. Provided, they’ve registered their device for the same in Nokia website.

The beta testers can report bugs and feedbacks of the beta on a Feedback app that comes pre-installed with the build. By this, Nokia aims to develop stable and smooth final version of Oreo for the Nokia phones. As a gratitude, the Oreo beta testers will be the first to get Gold Master of the latest OS from the firm.

Also, HMD has claimed that the beta program could be soon extended to Nokia 3,5 and 6. In addition, those who find the beta too buggy and not worth for day-to-day usage. They can roll-back to the previous stable Nougat 7.1.1 just by de-registering from the program.
