Honor 9 rumored to drop 3.5 mm headphone jack

In July 2016, Huawei launched the beautiful Honor 8 with HD Display and elegant design. It is almost time for a refresh and we have already seen some rumors and leaks of the Honor 9. Like most of the images in China gets shared over Weibo, we have received images of the Honor 9 depicting its bottom edges from there. The image also shows the Honor 9 in a new Black color.

Given that if the images are legit we can say that there will be no 3.5 mm headphone jack on the phone. Also, USB Type-C will be implemented as per the alleged image. Many Chinese OEM’s are prone to copying Apple’s design and we have seen other Chinese OEM’s do the same. So it would not be a surprise to see Huawei also follow suit. The design change would do little good as a large part of Android users worried of parting ways with their beloved headphone jack, we presume. There is still plenty of time till the launch of the phone so we assume there are much more leaks on the way. So take these leaks with a pinch of salt.

From the images, we can see some other prominent changes such as the dual camera arrangement at the back. Another big design change is the placement of the fingerprint scanner to the front, which means the company might ditch the handy ‘Smart Key’ feature of the Honor 8. The ‘Smart Key’ feature allows the user to launch an app using the fingerprint scanner or even take a picture or take a screenshot too.

Other rumors regarding the Honor 9 include images leaked earlier this month showing the Honor 9 in Black Blue and Light Purple colour.
