Honor Magic 2 appears on Geekbench with Kirin 980 with 8GB RAM

Honor Magic 2 is in news once again as it has appeared on Geekbench with Kirin 980. The new chipset from Honor is only available with the Mate 20 series which have 2 NPUs and is based on 7 nm process. It is created by Huawei after 3 years of continuous reasearch and development. The Chinese company is comparing it with the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 855.

Talking about the device, Honor Magic 2 has surfaced on Geekbench revealing its all specifications. As per the specs sheet, it will come with an 8GB of RAM coupled by Kirin 980 SoC. Further, there will be a cheaper version with 6 GB of RAM. It will ship with Android 9.0 Oreo on board. Earlier, it has been revealed that Huawei Honor Magic 2 will carry six cameras.

On Geekbench, Honor Magic 2 has scored 3,316 points in a single core test while multiple core tests have gained 9534 points. The performance seems to be matching with the Mate 20 series but remains lower than the Apple’s Bionic A12 chip.

The new high-end device, Honor Magic 2 will compete against the upcoming devices such as Galaxy S10, etc. Right now it outperforms all the devices which are running on Snapdragon 845, which is built on 10 nm process.

As like of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 or upcoming Lenovo Z5 Pro, Magic 2 will also feature a sliding design. It will launch in China and later is expected to launch in the international markets starting from Europe.
