Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor has just announced a new entrant to its budget smartphone portfolio- Honor Play 7. The new budget smartphone has been launched in China with a price tag of 599 Yuan that roughly translates to $95 or INR6,400. The smartphone will be available in Blue, Black and Gold color options. Honor Play 7 will be exclusively available in China only. It is expected to be launched globally in the coming months though.
Honor Play 7 features a 5.45-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. The handset is powered by MediaTek MT6739 processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM. Moreover, the smartphone comes with 16 GB of internal storage capacity which is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card.
In the camera segment, the smartphone houses a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, Autofocus, and 4X digital zoom. On the front, Honor Play 7 flaunts a 5MP selfie camera with LED flash. The handset is fueled by a 3,020 mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.1 on top.
Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE and GPS, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and FM radio. It also includes sensors like accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. The smartphone comes with dimensions of 146.5×70.9×8.3mm and weighs 142 grams.
