HTC Accepted Sense UI was inflated

HTC Chief Product Officer Kouji Kodera in an interview with Pocket-lint admitted that its Sense UI, the skin it puts over the Android mobile operating system got very bloated as it developed.

“There where too many things in there,” Kodera said for Pocket-lint. “Even on the home screen we had four or five icons before consumers got a chance to add things themselves. For the HTC One range we have taken it down to Sense 2.0 again.”
Kodera made the admission about the Sense UI in an exclusive interview at the currently-ongoing Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, Spain.

“From the original Sense up to Sense 3.5 we added too many things. The original concept was that it had to be simple and it had to be easy to use and we had that philosophy, but over time it got cluttered,” Kodera said about the Sense UI.

The top-of-the-line HTC One X will be one of the phones to feature the newest version of the Sense UI when it is released.
