HTC Faces Ban In Germany After Defeat From Nokia Injunction

Here’s a big blow for HTC in the Germany as HTC One family devices got banned in the country after the Nokia Won Injunction yesterday. Nokia is on a winning streak as it had already won lawsuits in the UK, the US  and the Netherlands.

Yesterday in Germany, Judge Dr. Matthias Zigann has just granted Nokia a permanent sales injunction against their rival’s handsets, effectively banning the sale of all Android-based devices made by the Taiwanese manufacturer. Court in the Germany found that the HTC products using Bluetooth or NFC connections to transfer files between mobile devices (basically Android Beam functionality) to infringe on a Nokia patent.

After this Google has jumped into action and is trying to invalidate the patent. It has realized that this particular litigation on Nokia patent can impact the entire Android ecosystem of devices.

So now fingers are crossed whether Google will solve this trilaterally or bilaterally with Nokia.
