HTC U11 Life starts receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update in the US

HTC U11 Life is a mid range smartphone from the Taiwanese smartphone maker. They launched it earlier this month in two variants – standard (HTC Sense) and Android One edition. The latter one comes with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and is only available in Europe. But, the former one which is available in the US comes with Android Nougat with HTC Sense.

Earlier today, MoVersi of HTC tweeted that the unlocked U11 Life units will start receiving Android Oreo update from today. And later, HTC USA confirmed that the update is now rolling out and T-Mobile units will be the next to receive it.

In case you do not know, Android Oreo brings lots of new features and functionalities. Such as Picture in Picture Mode, better RAM management, better battery performance, Project Treble, adaptive icons, Notification channels and some more under the hood changes.

As the update is being rolled out via OTA (Over the Air), it might take time to reach every devices. If you want to check manually, then go to Software updates under About phone section of your smartphone. Make sure, you have enough battery and storage space before downloading the update. And also try to download it via WiFi to eliminate data charges.

Few days ago, the HTC U11 started receiving the Oreo update. Which means U11 Ultra will be next in the row to get the update followed by HTC 10.
