Instagram is currently one of the most preferred social platforms, especially among youths. And the company has been updating their service with new features for the past few years. They introduced live followed by polls, story highlights, follow hashtags and much more. They even launched a standalone app for chat known as Direct and a video platform called IG TV. And now, the Facebook-owned service updates their app with video chat, Topic channels, and new camera filters.
Users can video call their friends from the Direct section of the app. To video call, open the desired person’s conversation and tap the new camera icon on the top right corner. Also, users can group video chat with up to four members which is less when compared to Snapchat(16 members). Further, users can even continue exploring their feed and other stuff when they are in a video call. The call window will minimize and move to the right bottom corner of your screen.
The second new addition is Topic channels which users can access from the Explore section. Instagram says over 200 million users visit Explore to find new things. These new Topic channels will help them to find relevant content based on their taste. The Topic channels include For You, Art, Travel, Animals and more.
Last but not least, Instagram adds camera filters designed by celebrities and other third parties. Right now, users can access camera filters by Ariana Grande, Buzzfeed, Liza Koshy, Baby Ariel and NBA. But, users will have to follow the above-mentioned accounts to use their filters.
To enjoy all these new stuff by Instagram, you must have the latest version of the app. If you are not on the latest update, update it from the Play Store now.
