Instagram may soon adapt Facebook-like reactions in the Stories section

In the recent weeks and months, Instagram has been testing a plethora of new features to make the photo and video-sharing app more engaging for the users. The Facebook-owned company is said to bring Facebook-like reactions in the Instagram’s Stories section. This new feature is currently being tested and is available for beta users only. If the testing goes well, an option to react to Stories will soon be available in the stable version of the app. Meanwhile, a tweet from @wongmjane in the month of April also revealed quite a similar feature but it may be exclusive for iOS users.

Instagram is expected to roll-out this feature anytime soon allowing users to react to Stories with animated emojis. It has been reported though that ‘Facebook-like reactions’ feature is already available for some users based on their location. Better late than never, this new feature will be arriving in phases for users located in different countries.

As of now, we noticed six available reactions that can be used while responding to Stories. It includes applause, laugh, heart eyes, face with open mouth, crying, and fire. These Facebook-like reactions are included in the latest stable Instagram version 54.0.0.14.82. However, it is still not available for everyone since they’re enabled via a server-side update.

Did you get to see these new reactions of late? If yes, do let us know in the comment section below.
