Face Filters are all the rage these days on Instagram, adding to that craze today will be a new Instagram announcement. The huge photo sharing platform has just put up a blog post informing us that the same face filters are now available for live video sessions too. Also they have added one new cool virtual sunglasses face filter. These pair of glasses filter will be live for next week. Additionally, users can also tap on the glasses to trick people into believing you are in a cool location.

The filters were originally developed for photos. But Instagram has taken it up a level and this will allow some more creativity to live video. Users will find the face filter options in the live mode on the bottom right corner.

There will be a face icon there and tapping it will bring all the masks users could see in the photos section. Moreover, once you’ve finished live streaming, these videos can also be shared to stories. They can also be deleted by choosing “Discard” as usual so they will simply disappear after the live session is finished.

The update is rolling out globally in the coming weeks. So, get ready for the new features on your favourite Instagram. You should see the new stickers and features pretty soon. Most recently, Instagram added support for sharing stories via direct messages.
