Lenovo launched the Moto Z 2017 just few months ago and now they are here with the Moto Z 2018. Lenovo launched it quietly in China to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the 1st phone made by Motorola. It is strange that Lenovo nor Motorola teased anything about this new smartphone. Even the device did not get leaked or a single rumour regarding it surfaced the internet.
Moto Z2 2018 specs
The device looks similar to the Moto Z2 Force except for the golden Motorola batwing logo. Under the hood, it is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 but comes with 6GB of RAM instead of 4GB in the Moto Z2 Force. Further, it has 128GB of internal storage which can be expanded upto 2TB via microSD card. On the front, it features a 5.5 inches QHD AMOLED display with Shatter Shield technology. Above the display, there is a 5 MP camera along with a flash. The fingerprint sensor is placed below the display like any other Motorola smartphone.
On the back, it has a dual camera setup consisting of 12 MP monochrome sensor and 12 MP RGB sensor. It also supports Moto Mods as any other Moto Z series smartphone. Also, it does not have headphone jack like its predecessors. But comes with USB type-C to support fast charging. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with some skin on it. Finally, the whole package is backed by a small 2,730 mAh battery.
This new offering from the company will be only available as Kingsman VIP Special Edition, thus it is priced at whopping ¥9,999 (~$1500). The phone comes in a briefcase like box and contains lots of accessories in it. The freebies include the new Motorola USB type-C HiFi headphones, a Turbopower battery mod, a Wireless charging mod, an USB type-C to 3.5 mm adapter, a leather flip case, a VIP card and a 45th anniversary notepad.
There is no word from the company regarding Moto Z 2018’s availability as standard edition and in other markets.
