LG releases Android Oreo Update for LG G6 Indian Variant

LG has just revealed its state of the art LG G7 ThinQ device in India, it is a great balanced device with amazing pricing from LG. However, this story is not dedicated to the LG G7 ThinQ, you will be surprised to know that here we will be talking about the old LG G6. According to the fresh details we’ve got LG has started the rollout process of Android Oreo update for the device. So if you are using an LG G6 device then don’t go anywhere and stick to the couch for a while.

The biggest change one will notice after this update is the model name conversion from LG G6 to the LG G6 ThinQ. LG V30+ has also received the Oreo update recently but some feature dissimilarities do exist among the two. The fresh update comes with the version V20f-JUL-20-2018 and weighs hefty at 1816MB’s. It updates the Android version of the device to Android 8.0 Oreo and installs the July security patch.

To improve the device’s battery performance G6 now keeps fewer processes in the background. A user also gets the redesigned Camera app but he/she has to compromise on AI features. New app icon shapes have been introduced, the Blue Light filter now offers 10 levels to choose from, improved settings layout, home touch buttons can be hide when using apps, etc. Altogether the update is worthy and brings a number of essential features to the device.
