Micromax Selfie 3 with 16MP selfie-camera launched in India

Micromax has now officially announced a new smartphone – Micromax Selfie 3 in Indian markets. The Selfie 3, emerges as the successor of just recently launched Micromax Selfie 2 by the company. Just like its predecessor the Selfie 3 is focused on selfie lovers. Mainly, the 16MP front shooter being the highlight of this device.

The selfie 3, carrying the Model No. E460 is priced at Rs. 11,999. Apparently, Rs. 2000 dearer than its predecessor. However, the pricing seems to be decent since the Selfie 3 packs certain improvements over the Selfie 2.

Micromax Selfie 3 Features

Let us begin with the main USP of the device i.e of course the selfie-camera. Micromax has assembled a big 16MP front sensor within the Selfie 3. It’s to be noted that, its predecessor flaunts a just 9MP sensor at the front. Moreover, the front-facing shooter is accompanied by Samsung sensor, LED flash, and features such as Portrait mode and 52MP Super Pixel Mod.

However, at the rear it flaunts a 13MP shooter powered by Sony sensors instead of the Samsung one.

Moving onto other vital specifications of the device, the Selfie 3 under the hood boards a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 435 Mobile Platform. Storage options include, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory that can be expanded upto 256GB via microSD card. A 5-inch IPS display with a fullHD resolution of 1,920×1,080 pixels is occupied for displaying the contents. It packs a 3,000mAh battery.

If the software part is considered, the Selfie 3 boots Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Since, Micromax usually doesn’t guarantee any new OS for its devices. Whether there is an Oreo update on the card for this device is currently uncertain.

As mentioned earlier, the device is available in various retail outlets across India at Rs. 11,999.  However, it’s unclear whether the device will be made available outside India or not.
