Micromax had been teasing the custom Cyanogen based device since quite a bit of tie now. And as earlier told, they finally released the device yesterday. The device is the first member of the “Yu” series by the Indian Smartphone Manufacturer, which will be depending on Cyanogen OS.
The device is priced at about 8,999 ($142), and would go on sale exclusively on Amazon India. Coming to the device, it sports a 5.5 inch of display with a resolution of about 1280×720 pixels, and also Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. it is powered by a Snapdragon 615 SoC along side 1.5GHz octa-core CPU, Adreno 405 GPU and 2 Gigs of RAM. It has a internal memory of about 32 GB and also an option for expansion.
It has Dual SIM functionality, and also interestingly LTE data connectivity, which is quite impressive given the price of the device. it has a rear camera of about 13 MP, and a front facing camera of about 5 MP. Also with this release, it makes the path of other devices a bit hard, as now the company owns the exclusive rights of Cyanogen OS, and also with such great hardware and specifications, the phone is on the hot list already.
