MIL-STD 810G compliant Galaxy Tab Active 2 launched

Shatter-Proof and rugged Galaxy Tab Active 2 is now official in Netherlands. In fact, it took nearly 3 years for Samsung to launch a successor to 2014 iteration of ruggedised Galaxy Tab Active. The Galaxy Tab Active 2 is priced at EUR 500 and will be hitting shelves by November end.

As every Active smartphones or Tablet from the South-Korean giant so far, the Tab Active 2 is also certified with MIL-STD 810G. And, of course its display is shatterproof and sensitive to hand gloves. The IP68 dust-water resistant rated rugged tablet tucks in an S-Pen similar to the Galaxy Note 8.

Tab Active 2: Bixby and More!

The Tab Active 2 wears a 5-inch TFT display of 1280×800 pixels. It is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7880 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM. Storage options include, 16GB of onboard memory that can be extended upto 256GB via microSD card.

For photography, the tablet houses an 8MP rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Connectivity options available are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and USB Type-C port. The tablet runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 garnished by Samsung Experience 8.5. Interestingly, it supports Bixby and has got a dedicated Bixby button for Bixby Voice. A bulky 4450mAh “removable” battery fuels the device.

Additionally, the Tab Active 2 comes with a POGO pin receiver for use with third-party accessories, and a software development kit, suitable for corporate customers.
