Moto X4 Android One Edition is now receiving 8.1 Oreo update

Motorola announced the Moto X4 reviving the X series in late August last year. And in September, the American smartphone manufacturer introduced the Android One edition of the same device with support for Project-Fi. And as an Android One device, it was one of the first phones to receive Android 8.0 Oreo update in December. And now, it is receiving the latest 8.1 Oreo update.

The Android 8.1 Oreo update which is currently being seeded out to Moto X4 is a minor OS upgrade over the 8.0. It brings new power menu positioning as well as light and dark themes based on the wallpaper. Further, it brings some under the hood improvements and of course the fix for that strange emojis found in 8.0. The new update also brings March security patch for the Moto X4 Android One edition.

As with any OTA update, it would take time to hit every device. Hence, do not worry if you did not find any notification of the update. However, you could manually check for update from the About phone section in your Moto X4. Before downloading the update, make sure to have enough storage space and juice left on your device to avoid any issue.

Anyways, if you are a Moto X4 Android One user and received the update, then don’t forget to leave a comment below.
