OnePlus became the most successful smartphone brand in the year 2017 in terms of popularity as well as breaking their sales record. The year 2017 saw tier 1 smartphone manufacturers asking nearly $1000 for their flagships. But, OnePlus provided nearly 80 – 90% what those OEMs offered at half the price.
Recently, in an interview with CNET, Pete Lau – the CEO of OnePlus said that they are going to start talking with US carriers to launch their next device in partnership. If they get succeed, then definitely OnePlus’ sale will boost even higher in the US. Because, almost 85 to 90% consumers in US buy their smartphones through carriers. However, Pete didn’t mention when the deal might might struck also he declined to comment on what happened to China’s largest smartphone manufacturer Huawei.
He also confirmed that the next OnePlus device will be launching at the end of Q2 like last year. He also said that the upcoming device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 as there is no other choice. On the other hand, Carl Pei – co founder of OnePlus said that OnePlus 3 and 3T will soon get the beta version of face unlock which gained instant popularity in OnePlus community. However, he already teased the fans regarding it late last year with a tweet.
