Nexus 7 is Getting Android 5.1 Lollipop Update, and Nexus 5 Got It Too

Recently , some users reported on Google’s product forum that their Nexus 7 devices are getting lollipop update, same goes for Nexus 5 as some users are catching update on Nexus 5 too , according to the reports. Few days earlier, Google posted factory images for Nexus 7(3G) Android lollipop update on their Android Open Source Project page for Nexus devices.

Nexus 7 getting Android 5.1 update

As the March started, Google started the lollipop update for its Nexus devices. As the device is getting lollipop update, then there is an improvisation in the performance of device. According to the reports, there are some beneficial changes and renovation over its predecessor, Android 5.0.

During the upgrade, device got improvement in battery life as it is running on new operating system and, protection and security is also enhanced as device got a new locking system which will prevent the device from being operated in unauthorized way.

Even if the unauthorized person managed to unlock it, device will not start without the sign in of original user. Furthermore, it also boosts quality of voice calls between devices running on new OS. Apparently, this feature was designed for Smartphones and phablets not for tablets like Nexus 7.

However, google has now posted factory images, therefore update should be immediate. As we know it’s first time that search giants are announcing about their operating system update,so users should check their devices if they got any update notification or not.

The Nexus 9, Nexus 7 2013, Nexus 7 LTE, and Nexus 4 are still waiting in line for update of operating system as Google gave update confirmation about only Nexus 7 (3G).
