Niantic Labs is bringing new Research option to Pokémon Go

The team behind Pokémon Go, Niantic Labs is bringing a new feature to the game termed as Research. This feature will also enable gamers to catch legendary Pokémon including Mew which was only available on Game Boy through official Nintendo events in 2004. This new Research feature will be rolling out to users later this week.

Players will be able to play two Research tasks and they are Field Research and Special Research respectively. Field Research tasks can be obtained from nearby PokéStops by spinning. Whereas Special Research tasks will be requested by Professor Willow himself. The former one will include objectives like discovering and catching certain Pokémon, engaging with battles or other things. However, the latter will include some important discoveries.

Players can play as many Researches per day and earn rewards. The difficulty level will increase as the player advances the Research tasks. Players can also obtain one Stamp every day by completing Field Research task. Once the player obtains seven Stamps, they might even receive greater rewards.

According to Niantic Labs, Research tasks will help players to get better at discovering, battling, and catching Pokémon. The update will be rolling out to users starting later this week. If you used to play Pokémon Go in the early times, we would suggest you give it a second try once the new update rolls out.
