Nokia X6 was HMD Global’s first take onto the most controversial aspect of design – the notched display. The device, which is currently available only in China is said to see a Global launch soon as confirmed by Juho Sarvikas, the CPO of HMD Global. Meanwhile, it looks like HMD has a plan of launching another device under notched-bandwagon. Since a new 360-video render of the supposed Nokia 5.1 Plus reveals a display with notch on the forehead.
On the above rendered video, it features the Nokia 5.1 Plus which is speculated to be an improved iteration of the recently launched, Nokia 5.1. But, with a design having a lot similarity to that of the Nokia X6.
You can easily see the notch, dual-camera setup and metallic encasing similar to the Nokia X6. In terms of dimensions – the device might be of 8mm in thickness, 149.5mm long and 71.9mm in width.
TigerMobiles, which is the source behind the creation of this render, had also leaked images of the Nokia 5.1 Plus based on the same rendered video. The leak can be genuine, though not completely, given that the source is reliable and has got a good track record in leaking smartphones.
Anyway, we should wait for an official announcement from HMD to concrete the existence of Nokia 5.1 Plus. Also, if there is such a device in work-house, then we will surely see a lot more leaks and benchmark/certification site visits revolving around the device in coming days.
