Nubia Red Magic 3 lands in India for ₹35,999

Nubia has finally brought its third generation gaming smartphone – Red Magic 3 to India. The phone was first unveiled in China back in April and was later made available in Europe and North America. The signature features of Red Magic 3 include an HDR OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate (like OnePlus 7 Pro), 8K video recording, and an internal fan for better thermal management.

The Nubia Red Magic 3 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, the most powerful Qualcomm silicon yet. It comes in two variants – one with 8GB RAM and 128 ROM and another with 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM. Though the processor and storage configurations are at the higher side of the spectrum, the phone still sports an FHD+ (1080×2340 pixels) display. But this is an HDR OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. These two factors are much important for gamers than higher resolution which are fulfilled by Red Magic 3.

Interestingly, Nubia Red Magic 3 does not feature dual, triple or quad camera setup at the back of the device. Rather, it comes with a single 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor which is also present in the Redmi Note 7 Pro and other mid-range as well as flagship smartphones. Though the phone features the common 48MP sensor as other phones, it is the only one out all with an ability to record 8K videos at 30fps. For selfies and video calling, the device comes equipped with a 16MP shooter at the front.

Gaming specific features of Red Magic 3 includes shoulder buttons for better controls, an internal fan to keep the temperature of the phone down, RGB LED strip, front-facing stereo speakers, support for DTS:X and 3D sound, a headphone jack (yay), and a massive 5,000 mAh battery. Other notable features include support for 27W fast charging, USB type-C and a fingerprint sensor. The phone runs on Android Pie and comes with Game Space 2.0 with gaming-related configurations.

The pricing of Nubia Red Magic 3 starts at ₹35,999 for the base 8GB RAM / 128 GB variant and goes up to ₹46,999 for the top-tier 12GB RAM / 256GB model. As far as colours are considered, it will be available in Black and Red colour options. The phone is aggressively priced and competes against the likes of Black Shark 2 which starts at ₹39,999.
