Oculus Go VR is now official starting at $199

Oculus VR is well known for its virtual reality hardware. The company was founded in 2012 and soon after two years, it was acquired by Facebook. As of now, the company only has two products – the Oculus Rift and Gear VR (in partnership with Samsung). A third one was announced last year named as Oculus Go (works without computer or smartphone) at $199. And now, it is finally official and is up for grab in 23 countries.

The first two and currently available products – Oculus Rift and Gear VR require a computer or smartphone (in case of Gear VR) to use them. However, two years ago, the company showcased a product as “Project Santa Cruz” which does not require any computer or smartphone to operate. Later, last year it was revealed as Oculus Go with a more affordable price tag of $199.

And now earlier today at Facebook’s F8 conference, the Oculus Go VR was made official and is already on sale. Interested people can buy it from Oculus’ official website, Amazon, New Egg or Best Buy. It comes in two variants – the 32GB model is priced at $199, whereas the 64GB variant will cost you $249. The Oculus Go VR supports 1,000 apps including those of Gear VR.
