Despite the efforts of One Plus 2 and One Plus X owners, their devices will still not receive Android Nougat. Yes you heard it right, it is now official as customer rep has responded. The official confirmation comes from a OnePlus customer rep in response to a query.

Thank you for reaching OnePlus Customer support.This is Alex from OnePlus. We greatly appreciate your time and effort in reaching out to us. Your concern is of utmost importance, and I will be helping you out with your ticket. As much as we would like to give the latest update on the OnePlus 2, we’ve discontinued updates for dated devices.But we will continue to support the limited warranty for current users and provide updates and support the best way we can even for OnePlus 2 users.
The query was regarding the OnePlus 2 but considering the worse case scenario, the OnePlus X is not even a former flagship. So, fearing the worst, it too might not get Android Nougat at all. OnePlus 2 owners started a campaign two months back called Thunderclap campaign to urge the company to issue updates for the OnePlus 2 units.
But looks like the effort has been in vain. But all is not lost. There is a lot of development going on at the XDA forums for such devices and you can surely find some great ROMs like Lineage OS which will cure your Android Nougat bug.
