OnePlus 3/3T getting October Security patch – the final security update

It’s been quite some time since the launch of OnePlus 3/3T. The smartphone is regularly getting the standard and security patches since then. After servicing the updates for around three years, OnePlus is finally ending the further development for OnePlus 3/3T devices. According to the software maintenance schedule of OnePlus, the company provides regular updates for two years and security patches for three years.

The new update brings the October 2019 security patch with minor and major security fixes. It packs several fixes and improvements, which will enhance the overall security of the device. Here’s the official changelog:

  • Updated Android security patch to 2019.10
  • Updated GMS apps
  • General bug fixes and improvements

The update is rolling out in a staged manner. It means the update will be sent to few users and upon successful verification, the update will gradually roll out to the remaining units of the OnePlus 3 and 3T.

Also, switch to the WiFi network to cut down any additional costs on the carrier’s network. The users can also manually check the update by heading to the Settings>System>System Updates.

OnePlus 3 and 3T were launched with Snapdragon 820 and Snapdragon 821 respectively. It was packed with 6GB RAM and dual camera setup on the rear side.
