OnePlus brings OxygenOS 4.5.8 after 4.5.7 being pulled for OnePlus 5

OnePlus last week rolled out the OxygenOS 4.5.7 update to the OnePlus 5 device worldwide with several improvements and bug fixes. Unfortunately, the update was immediately withdrawn following several issues like battery drain and display stuttering while gaming. OnePlus has announced that it will roll out the OxygenOS 4.5.8 update to fix this.

The OxygenOS 4.5.8 update is around 310 megabytes in size and it is released with the same fixes and improvements as the 4.5.7 update. Several users have reported on reddit and OnePlus forums that they are facing a quick battery drain just after they have installed the OxygenOS 4.5.7 update. If you have already installed the 4.5.7 update, then you have to download a 49 MB file to update to 4.5.8.

The changelog of this update includes the following bug fixes

  • Fixed occasional sound leaks in the speakers when using earphones
  • Fixed camera shutter sound bug in silent mode for Indian region
  • Fixed occasional stutters when playing games
  • Fixed battery drain for Jio users

OnePlus has also added Electronic Image Stabilization for 4K video recording and a new OnePlus Slate font. The update will be gradually rolled out to the OnePlus 5 devices in the coming weeks. You can check for the update from Settings->About Phone->System Updates.
