OnePlus devices running Oreo based OxygenOS fail to ring for some users

Kudos to OnePlus as they have updated their devices to Android Oreo as promised. But, it has also brought a weird bug for some users. Certain OnePlus 3, 3T, 5 and 5T which are currently on OxygenOS 5.0.3 based on Android Oreo are failing to ring on incoming calls.

At first only the 5T users reported this issue on OnePlus forums. Later, even all the remaining OnePlus model users which are currently on OxygenOS 5.0.3. Some forum members suggested to reboot their devices to fix this issue temporarily, however there’s no confirmation on this method. Same goes with the permanent fix method which involves clearing the cache memory from recovery.

Thus, if you are facing this issue you may at least try clearing cache method. To do so, power off your OnePlus device. Then, press power and volume keys simultaneously to boot the device into recovery mode. There, select clear cache, proceed doing it and finally reboot the device. Hopefully, it works for you and don’t forget to comment your result below.

Anyways, OnePlus will be responding to this issue via OTA updates sooner than later. But, as Chinese New celebrations are going on across the country, there’s no word from the company yet.
