Oppo A91 and A8 are now official in China with MediaTek SoCs

After a plethora of leaks revealing the entire specifications and designs, the Oppo A91 and A8 are now finally official in China for CNY 1999 and CNY 1199 respectively. These phones come powered by MediaTek chipsets and run ColorOS 6.1 based on Android Pie out of the box.

Oppo A91 Specifications

The Oppo A91 flaunts a 6.4-inches FHD+(1080 x 2400 pixels) AMOLED display with a dew-drop notch and 20:9 aspect ratio along with a fingerprint sensor underneath it. The rear of the phone features a quad-camera setup comprising of a 48MP primary snapper accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, a 2MP macro unit, and a 2MP depth sensor. The front camera is of 32 megapixels and it resides in the notch at the top of the display.

Under the hood, the phone features a MediaTek Helio P70 octa-core processor clocked at 2.1GHz paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM with ability to further expand the storage via microSD card. Lastly, it packs a 4,000mAh battery with support for 30W VOOC 3.0 fast charging via USB Type-C and runs Android Pie-based ColorOS 6.1.

The Oppo A8, on the other hand, sports a 6.5-inches HD+(720 x 1600 pixels) IPS LCD panel again with a dew-drop notch at the top centre. On the back, the phone comes with a triple camera setup including a 12MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide snapper and a 2MP depth sensor. The back of the phone also happens to feature a normal capacitive fingerprint sensor for authentication.

It is powered by MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM. There’s also support for microSD card but no fast charging for a large 4,230mAh battery that runs the device. Just like the A91, it comes pre-installed with ColorOS 6.1 based on Android Pie.

Both the phones are already up for pre-order and will go on sale on December 26, the day when the company will unveil its Reno 3 series of smartphones.
