In the recent past, OnePlus is quite consistent offering regular software updates for its devices. While OnePlus 6 release is just around the corner, the company is still zealous in providing latest update and support for older flagships like OnePlus 5 and 5T. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has just announced that OxygenOS Open Beta 10 and Open Beta 8 available for OnePlus 5 and 5T respectively.

This new update brings May security patch to both devices. Moreover, it further adds several improvements to apps like Launcher, Switch and Messages.

The Launcher App has now an added Toolbox Card in shelf along with a hidden space in app drawer. This new update also adds support for editing dynamic icons such as weather, clock and calendar.

OnePlus Switch App has an optimized user interface for backup and restore. It also optimizes the logic for the time remaining on the OnePlus Switch app. The update also brings some general bug fixes and stability improvements.

Furthermore, the Messages app now supports a new Group MMS.

It is to be noted that this an open beta update, and therefore, may not be as stable as official OTA update. Hence, you should understand the potential risks that may be involved while installing this update.
