Xiaomi POCO F1 was one of the surprise that we’ve witnessed on the tech-crazy year, 2018. With the flagship processor and lucrative specifications that too under aggressive pricing, the device grabbed the eyeballs of many and was an instant hit. It seems Xiaomi is yet again ready for deploying storm in the flagship market with the successor to POCO F1 for this new year, 2019. Let’s look at what all we’ve known so far regarding the rumored POCO F2, which is set to take the baton from the POCO F1 as the most valuable device.
POCO F2 leaks and renders
May 19 2019: A new teaser from Lu Weibing showcase its slow-mo ability to record videos at 960 frames per second. Xiaomi group vice president and Redmi General Manager also confirmed the presence of 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor on the Redmi K20. The Redmi K20 is expected to ship as Poco F2 in countries other than China.
May 14, 2019: A fresh leak confirms the Redmi K20 series will launch as Pocophone F2. The new name is expected for Redmi K20 units launching outside China. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC.a 6.39-inch display featuring Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and triple camera module. May 7, 2019: The device will feature a triple rear camera – 48MP primary sensor + 8MP ultrawide sensor and 16MP telephoto lens. On the front, there will be a 32 MP pop-up selfie camera.
POCO F2 Design
Undeniably, the POCO F1 doesn’t have a that much attractive design or build. It has a slightly bigger notch compared to the competition and a considerable amount of “plot” or what we call chin at the bottom. Well, courtesy to a recently released concept it seems Xiaomi is refining the design all for the good on POCO F2.

As per the images of the POCO F2 concept posted online by the prolific leaker Ben Geskin, the F2 will come with new teardrop notch unlike the traditional notch on its predecessor. Literally, pushing the screen to body ratio to be higher on the device. The POCO F2’s concept renders also showcases the rear side where there are two vertically aligned camera’s at the upper half of the phone which is common in modern phones. A rear positioned fingerprint sensor also can be seen.

POCO F2 Rumored Specifications
The area was the POCO F1 shined, and we expect its successor to maintain the legacy. It’s unforgettable that the merely $300(₹20,999) valued POCO F1 rocked the then latest flagship processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. Not only just the chipset, but the device also offered premium hardware perks that are non-existent at that price range.
Well, coming to the POCO F2’s rumored specification, it’s sad that nothing many concrete details about the device has surfaced. However, it’s in the realm of possibility and our notion that the device would come with today’s latest Mobile Platform – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. Also, there should be all the bells and whistles that are present on its predecessor, perhaps, Xiaomi should’ve improved them if they’re retained.
There are also rumors about one of the variants of the POCO F2 to come with massive 10GB of RAM. Given that Xiaomi has already offered POCO F1 in 8GB variant the rumor seems to be legit and palpable. All we can do is to wait and see how the device comes out to be.
POCO F2 Pricing
India is the region where the POCO F1 was initially launched. To recall, Xiaomi had priced POCO F1 smartphone in the country for just Rs 20,999 (around $300) for 6GB RAM and 64GB storage model. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version of POCO F1 carried Rs 23,999 tag, while its 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model was at Rs 28,999. There were other special editions of the device such as Kevlar and Armored editions having slightly higher prices.
Interestingly, Xiaomi has cut down the price of the POCO F1 recently indicating that the POCO F2 might be launched at the same price that of the launch price of its predecessor. Or, just INR. 1K or INR. 2K higher than the POCO F1 actual rate. Even if it’s priced slightly higher than the predecessor that’d be aggressive if it actually boards the latest Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform.
