Qualcomm has announced its newest and powerful SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 with Adreno 530 GPU on board. As per the company’s sayings the new chipset will be 40 percent better in graphics while consuming 40 percent less power than the Adreno 430 graphics included in today’s Snapdragon 810 chips.
Coming on to the discussion, Qualcomm has provided the Snapdragon 820 with the fastest smartphone graphics processing unit, Adreno 530 ,which will consume less power and will give more performance.
We can expect the devices with the latest Snapdragon 820 and Adreno 530 GPU by the first half of 2016 while the Exynos 7420 is available now.
There’s an another version of GPU that Qualcomm is bringing and that is the Adreno 510. it will ship with its Snapdragon 618 and 620 SoCs.
The GPU is also said to support OpenGL ES 3.2 on certain platforms, meaning that the upcoming Vulkan API, and all of its benefits, will be supported in the future as well. GPU package, the Snapdragon 820 will also now support external 4K displays with a 60fps output.

- Improved photos with Qualcomm Spectra ISP’s flexible hybrid autofocus framework and multi-sensor fusion algorithms supporting next generation computational photography;
- Improved power efficiency when compared to previous generations, better noise immunity and higher throughput via advanced compression techniques and use of the latest MIPI serial C-PHY interface; and
- Next generation Computer Vision and other use cases via direct-to-DSP raw bayer data streaming and pre-processing capabilities.
