Realme 5i set to launch in India on January 9

Realme today announced that Realme 5i – the company’s affordable offering is all set to be launched in India on January 9. The smartphone will be officially launched in an event hosted by the company scheduled to begin at 12:30 PM IST. Realme 5i will be sold exclusively via Flipkart and realme.com in the country and is expected to be priced between INR 7,999 and INR 8,999. With this price tag, the smartphone is expected to be a more affordable version of Realme 5.

The upcoming smartphone will come with a 6.5-inch waterdrop IPS LCD display and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Realme 5i will feature a quad-camera setup on the rear that includes a primary shooter, ultra-wide-angle sensor, portrait lens, and macro lens. At the front, the device is expected to house a single selfie camera.

The smartphone’s main highlight is its huge 5,000mAh battery that can easily last an entire day with a single charge. Realme 5i supports dual-SIM and will run on ColorOS 6.0.1 based on Android 9.

Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, USB Type-C.  The sensors on the smartphone may include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor.
