[Update: February 6] Realme C3 with fingerprint sensor might launch in India soon

Realme C series of smartphones have been the brand’s top-selling devices since its introduction. That is because they are the most affordable smartphones from the company starting at ₹5,999. And now to tap in more users, the company might soon launch a new phone in the series dubbed as Realme C3 with a fingerprint sensor.

Madhav Seth, the CEO of Realme India took it to Twitter to announce that the Realme C series alone has 10.2 million users globally. In the same tweet, he added that they will be bringing more to the series tomorrow, i.e. January 30. This goes in line with a recent Realme C3 exclusive leak by 91Mobiles. That means we can expect the company to either announce the launch date for the phone tomorrow or simply launch the phone as Realme C3 seems to be no different than the Realme C2, except for a fingerprint sensor and a slightly larger battery, as per the leak.

Talking about the leak, the Realme C3 with model number RMX2020 will pack a 5,000 mAh battery, which is 1,000 mAh more battery than Realme C2. Further, it will be powered by an unknown MediaTek processor and will also feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor (first in the series). In contrast, its closest competitor, Redmi 8A does not come with a fingerprint sensor. On the software front, the Realme C2 will be running Android 10 out of the box, possibly with Realme UI based on ColorOS 7. Lastly, the leak also suggests it to retail as Realme 3S in other markets apart from India.
