Realme X50m 5G starts getting May 2020 Security patch update in China

Realme X50m was released last month in the Chinese market. Now, the company started rolling out May 2020 Security patch update for Realme X50m in China. Realme recently rolled out the May 2020 security update for a bunch of smartphones across many regions in the world. The list includes Realme 5i, Realme X Youth Edition, Realme 6 Pro, Realme 5, Realme 5 Pro, and many others.

Talking about the update, it weighs 3.77 GB in size and the update includes the May security patch, some bug fixes, and a few optimized features for the camera. The May 2020 security patch comes with an RMX2141_11.A.06 firmware version. The changelog of the update is mentioned below.

● Added rear slow motion 120FPS function

● Optimize camera effects and enhance the photo experience

● Optimize the problem of excessive power consumption in some scenarios

● Fixed the prompt that “mobile phone screen is connected to null” in the status bar in some scenarios

According to the company’s note, the update is rolling out in a phased manner, which means that a set of random users will start getting the update now. After the successful verification of the update, all the users will start receiving it within a week.

To check the update manually, open the Settings menu on your smartphone, and navigate to software updates. We also suggest you switch to a WiFi network to avoid carrier data costs.

Realme X50m features a 6.57-inch display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. It is available in two variants – 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM with 128 GB storage. The smartphone comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and packs a 4,200 mAh battery including 30W Fast charging support.

Coming to the cameras, there’s a Quad-camera setup on the rear side that includes 48 MP primary + 8 MP ultra-wide lens + 2 MP macro sensor + 2 MP depth sensor. On the front, it hosts a dual-camera setup that includes 16 MP + 2 MP camera for selfies and video calling.
